It is always a good idea to reach out to a speech language pathologist if you, anyone in your family, or school staff have concerns regarding a child's speech and/or language. Speech therapy addresses a variety of concerns including speech sounds, expressive/receptive language, stuttering, and more. While children reach developmental milestones at different points, you can reach out and make an appointment if you have any concerns regarding communication and language development.

We offer a free 15-minute consultation. You can click the "contact us" button to send us a message and schedule your consultation. After the consultation, we will determine whether further evaluation is necessary.

Services can provided in our Oakland-based office on 30th Street, from the comfort of your home, as well as through teletherapy. So if you're not located locally, that's okay! As long as you live in California, we can provide speech therapy services via teletherapy.

Speech therapy sessions range from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the needs of the child.

The frequency of speech therapy sessions varies greatly from child to child. This will be determined following a comprehensive evaluation.

At this time, The Bay Speech and Play is "in-network" and accepts Kaiser PDDO patients and Alameda Alliance, and Community Health Center Network (CHCN) insurance plans. We also accept client from the Regional Center of the East Bay. However, we do not accept any other insurance plans. While we are working to establish a wider insurance network, you are responsible for full payment at the beginning of each session. Payment can be made via cash, check or credit card. We are considered an “out of network” provider for all other insurance plans and you may opt to receive a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
