Ogechi is a Nigerian-American multi-lingual speech pathologist who is fluent in her native language of Igbo, and has developed intermediate skills in Spanish while continuing to take language classes to further her Spanish-speaking skills. She has a passion for working with diverse families and incorporating each family's values when making decisions about therapy and goals.
Ogechi received her Master of Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from California State University, East Bay and her Bachelor of Science in Developmental Biology from the University of California, Merced. Ogechi's early career began as a high school science and special education teacher. Following her time as a teacher, she became the Afterschool Program Manager at GLIDE Family, Youth and Childcare Center in San Francisco. There, she developed a passion for working with young children. During graduate school, Ogechi was a recipient of the ASPIRE grant, which immersed awardees in deeper coursework, community service, and clinical focus on Autism.
Ogechi has evaluated and treated a variety of clients of all ages in school settings, outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals. Through her different experiences, she has gained knowledge providing speech therapy for kids with language delays, speech sound disorders, autism, fluency disorders, social communication disorders, and adults with feeding and swallowing disorders, aphasia, cognitive disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke. She has developed a dual passion for working with children with autism, especially early learners, and adults with feeding and swallowing disorders.
Ogechi holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of California.
Bridget is a Bay Area native who was first inspired to become a speech-language
pathologist from her own experience as a child who had speech therapy from
Kindergarten through her elementary school years. Bridget studied American Sign Language for a year at Santa Rosa Junior College with basic/intermediate skills, is proficient in Spanish, and working toward fluency with future plans to enroll in an immersive Spanish program while volunteering to provide skilled speech therapy services to children and adults in Latin American countries.
Bridget studied Spanish and graduated with honors and a B.A. in Communication Sciences & Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology while also managing two research labs at San Diego State University and simultaneously conducting conducting doctoral-level research at 4 labs for publication and presentation. She began her career in Austin, Texas working at one of the first comprehensive stroke centers in the country and was the only speech-language pathologist in the department
Bridget has worked with children from birth to high school age across several different settings including university clinics, research centers, private practice, outpatient clinics, pre-schools, and elementary schools. Bridget has worked with children diagnosed with Autism, genetic/hereditary syndromes/conditions, congenital/developmental delays/impairments, acquired impairments (such as Traumatic Brain Injury, stroke), neurodivergence. Bridget has conducted speech-language screenings at pre-schools, facilitated literacy skills in Spanish and English to Spanish monolingual and bilingual children, taught vocabulary and literacy/phonological awareness lessons in Kindergarten classrooms, provided early language intervention for birth to age 3 year old children, led a family education series, support groups, peer social groups, and provided speech-language + social-cognitive assessment/intervention to at-risk youth.
Bridget has 15 years of clinical experience and holds a California License in Speech-Language Pathology and is certified by the national organization, American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
Tamra Brooks is a California based Speech-Language Pathologist. She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Arizona and received her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from California State University East Bay. In her role as a speech pathologist she has worked with children of all ages in schools, clinics, and home based contexts. She especially enjoys play based therapy and learning individual styles in order to support communication. She lives in Benicia with her husband and 5-month old son.
Tamra holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of California.
Charlie is a Speech Therapist living in the Greater Bay Area. She was born in the Philippines, raised in the Middle East, returned to her motherland for university, and finally relocated to California in her early adult life. The seeds of her Speech Therapy journey were planted in the Philippines while in college. They took root when she moved to the United States as she pursued a second bachelor's degree and her master's degree from Sacramento State and San Francisco State University, respectively. While in SFSU, she was a scholar for Project GROW and received a credential for Early Childhood Special Education (ESCE) .
Upon graduation, she started and has been working as an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Specialist for a local school district. She is also able to practice her ECSE skills with the Bay Speech and Play Team, where she is having the most fulfilling time working closely with families.
Kelsey Ellison is a California-based speech therapist who is deeply driven by the idea of communication as a tool for building relationships, independence, and self expression. Born and raised in a small town in the mountains, Kelsey discovered her interest in speech therapy while working at an arts program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in speech-language pathology, earning an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and a certificate in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) from San Francisco State University.
Kelsey’s experience providing speech-language therapy and assessments spans various populations and settings, including birth-to-three early intervention in homes, preschool to middle school in school-based and clinic settings, and adults in clinical environments. When working with young children, she utilizes a play-based approach to support their language development and enjoys providing parent coaching to help families build their child’s communication skills. Kelsey is committed to person- and family-centered care, tailoring therapy to honor each individual’s unique needs and background. Currently living in Berkeley, Kelsey enjoys exploring the outdoors, camping, and staying connected to her roots in the mountains.
